NEU: DOPPELTE GRÖSSE, DOPPELTES WOW! Museum der Illusionen Wien

We were searching for an entertaining place to hide from the heat in July and stumbled upon this museum. We are very happy that we did.

It was three of us visiting, me, my mom and grandma and regardless of our ages, we all had so much fun! The museum has lots of fantastic photo spots, visual illusions and also brain games to try out. Our highlight was the upside down room. We got so many cool pictures.

The best part was the staff who made the experience even better. They’re very friendly, funny and helpful and gladly took pictures of us three together.
We spent around 1,5 hours there, which was the perfect amount of time for the museum, in my opinion. Not too long and not too short. We visited on a weekday and there was no crowd so we were able to enjoy everything fully.

The entrance fee was €19 for adults and €16 for students, which is completely reasonable for a museum in Vienna. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you’re looking for something interactive, fun and unique to experience. Recommend for any age, I’m sure the kids love it as well. They also have a very cute museum shop. I will definitely come again with my partner too.

Visited on a very hot day in Vienna. The experience is a lot of fun and the staff were extremely helpful throughout.

After reading some of the Google reviews, we almost did not come to the Museum of illusions in Vienna. We are so happy we persevered and came. We came with our 10 year-old girl and 13-year-old boy and had a fantastic time. It was a welcome break for them from the more formal museums in the city.
This is definitely a place to take silly photos and have some laughs. We spent about 1 1/2 hours here in total, but we looked at every single illusion on the wall and read about most of them. There are many reviews online saying there is no documentation of how the illusions work. That was entirely false. There were informative plaques posted for every single thing. If you have older children, they will very much enjoy this museum.
